Springtime Renewal
Spring is a time of opening up the windows, cleaning out cobwebs and generally freshening up everything. Traditionally, back East we would bring out the slipcovers and roll up the heavy rugs to make way for a lighter, brighter approach to our living spaces. Even though I’ve lived in California for 36 years now, I still love a lighter, brighter look with cheery prints and ticking stripes on slipcovers. Sisal or jute rugs are reasonably priced and a great look for area rugs. Bright solid colors with contrasting trims work for accessory pillows. A few quick changes like these, and suddenly, your room has a “new spring/summer” look.
